You see I know some heroes like Janet King. I even know Paul and Karen Hollis. I can even say that I know Patty Mixon and Beth Klinger. Have you ever heard of John Lyter? Most people haven't. Kevin Luzier may be another person you don't know anything about. My sister Kathie and Shetel Putt aren't anyone that folks would say they know either. But yet these folks are all heroes in not only my eyes but even more so in God's eyes. Have they ever preached to thousands at a crusade leading hundreds to Christ? Have they ever written a book on theology or other topic that has revolutionized the world or its thoughts? But what do they have in common with Billy Graham and the Apostle Paul? Simply this! They serve God faithfully each week teaching kids that Jesus loves them and help them to show their love back to Jesus! They are doing what God has called them to do and disciplining the children to become more like Christ. A hero is someone who doesn't always set to be a hero. They are simply ones who in the midst of a situation sees something that needs to be done and does it and sometimes if it may cost them a great price. A hero steps up and does what is necessary to accomplish a task. I can tell you that most Medal Of Honor recipients didn't do what they did just so they could get the medal! They did what they did to simply save the lives of others who were with them. Just as Christ laid down His life for ours, they stepped up and put themselves in harms way. Well today we are in a spiritual warfare for people's lives and God is calling us to step and be heroes for His kingdom. It doesn't take much to be a hero. Step up and tell God that you are willing to commit to do the work He has ordained for you and do it! The heroes of the faith throughout the Scriptures were just ordinary people that God used for His purpose and helped them to do His work.
You see these folks are indeed heroes in my eyes. Only John Lyter has gone on to receive his reward for his faithfulness while the others are still here and serving God doing what He has called them to do. So I only want to know one thing from you after you have read this. Are you being a hero or are you sitting this battle out letting others fight the fight? If so, how about standing up and becoming a hero so one day you will hear the words from Christ Himself "Well done good and faithful servant"!
